George Fan

George Fan joined IPC in 2019 as a Partner, Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel. Prior to joining IPC, George was the Chief Operating Officer and Senior Managing Director of GSO where he also served on the GSO Management Committee, GSO Conflicts and Risk Committee, was co-chair of the GSO Operational Risk and Conflicts Committee and chair of the GSO New Products Committee. George was also a member of Blackstone’s Valuation Committee, Risk Committee, MD Promotion Committee, Technology Steering Committee and Technology Operating and Governance Committee and served as GSO’s General Counsel at the inception of the firm. Prior to joining GSO, George was a Director in the legal and compliance department of Credit Suisse, overseeing the Financial Sponsors Group of the Corporate and Investment Banking Division, as well as the Leveraged Finance Group. Additionally, George was counsel to the Investment Banking Committee and Bank/High Yield Finance Committee. He joined Credit Suisse in November 2000 when Credit Suisse purchased DLJ, where he was a Vice President in the Legal and Compliance department with responsibilities in debt originations. Prior to that, George was an Associate at the law firm of Latham & Watkins, where his practice focused on the origination of High Yield securities. George earned a BA from Harvard College and a JD from the University of Chicago.
